NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Price Climbs to $1,700 and Higher for the Holiday Season

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 has seen a sudden (but expected) price hike ahead of the holiday season. As a side-effect of the ban on the sale of the SKU across the Chinese continent, retailers have taken the opportunity to earn some extra dough. That said, the price hike is expected to be temporary and should clear up by the end of the holiday season. On Amazon, the cheapest GeForce RTX 4090 is priced at $1699, $100 higher than its MSRP.

The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming OC is currently going for $1,844.97, the highest in over six months. The Amazon-fulfilled product is out of stock, and 3rd party sellers are going all-out with the pricing.

The ASUS ROG Strix variant has risen to an eye-watering $2,598, up from its usual price of $2,300. Once again, the Amazon-fulfilled product is out of stock, leaving 3rd party retailers to do their own devices.

Newegg is a similar sight. The cheapest variant of the RTX 4090 starts at over $1,700, with the Founders Edition selling for over $2,000. Most AIB models are priced between $1,800 and $2,100.

Even Microcenter has hiked the price of its cheapest RTX 4090 to $1,650 while the rest are selling at $1,700 and higher.
